The Australian Hydrographers Association is proud to support our junior water monitoring professionals with the inaugural Junior Hydrographers Poster Presentation Session at the 2025 AHA Conference in Launceston.
We encourage you to register your interest now by completing this form. Once you've submitted your Expression of Interest, our team will contact you to discuss your ideas and guide you through the process.
Don’t worry—there’s no need to have your poster/presentation or video ready just yet. Actual presentation submissions won’t be due until the end of April 2025, giving you plenty of time to refine your work.
If your EOI is accepted, you'll receive a 50% discount on the conference registration. If you’d like to take advantage of the early bird registration rate, be sure to submit your EOI as soon as possible. Early submissions give you time to confirm your participation and secure your discounted rate!

What submissions are accepted?
We welcome you to submit and present either:
- A 5-minute presentation on a publishable poster.
- A pre-recorded 5-minute video showcasing your work as a hydrographer.
- Suggested topics include a short bio, a "day in the life of a hydrographer," a field day, or a site visit.
Your content should be suitable for inclusion in the AHA Journal, on the AHA website, or across AHA social media channels, helping you reach a wider audience and contribute to the industry’s knowledge base.

About the AHA Young Water Professionals Award
The Australian Hydrographers Association is excited to continue the ‘AHA Young Water Professionals Award’ at the 2025 Conference. This award, aimed specifically at emerging professionals under the age of 35, offers the following:
- A speaker spot at the next New Zealand Hydrological Society (NZHS) conference.
- A career development opportunity to enhance professional skills and recognition.
- Flights and accommodation covered for the NZHS conference in New Zealand.
The award will be judged by a panel during the 2025 AHA Conference in Launceston and presented to the best poster presentation, technical paper, or delivery by an emerging professional (35 years or under).
