Join us in Launceston from 1 to 3 December 2025 for the national conference of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia. Grab this unique opportunity to engage with world leaders, emerging scientists, innovators, students, and practitioners from a vast array of disciplines, and learn how to contribute to human-centred futures through technology and transformation. 

The HFESA 2025 conference will contribute to advancing deep learning, dissemination of innovative practices, new skills development, and solving complex problems. This is important to Australia’s future and internationally, and we are pleased to host this event in Launceston, Tasmania this year.

The conference is an in-person event only. Session recordings will be available after the conference to registered delegates.

Pre-Conference Site Tours

Pre-conference site tours will take place on Monday, 1 December 2025, between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. 

Three unique tours are on offer, each providing a behind-the-scenes experience relevant to our community:

  1. Australian Maritime College (AMC) – Explore Australia’s national maritime research centre, home to the most advanced facilities in the Southern Hemisphere.
  2. Furntech – AFRDI – Step inside Australia’s independent ergonomics and furniture testing organisation, with insights into safety, durability and sustainability.
  3. 41° South Tasmania – A guided salmon farm and ginseng plantation tour showcasing sustainable aquaculture, wetlands, and eco-tourism practices.

All tours will run concurrently, and transport will be provided from the conference venue. Further details will be shared closer to the date.

Spaces are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Site Tour bookings incur a $20 charge per person to cover transport and/or entry costs.

Cancellation Policy
Our Cancellation Policy is as follows: - Cancellations must be received in writing to conference@ergonomics.org.au - Cancellations received on or before 14 November 2025 will be accepted and a full refund of the registration cost will be provided. -Cancellations received after 14 November 2025 and on or before 21 November 2025 will be accepted and a refund of 50% of the registration cost will be provided. - No refunds are available for cancellations received after 21 November 2025 Changes after this time may be accepted on a case-by-case basis and we’ll endeavour to refund the full difference if it’s due to new COVID related restrictions within that time frame. Substitutions are accepted, please contact the HFESA Conference Manager conference@ergonomics.org.au
