We are seeking expressions of interest from clinicians who would be interested in participating in ASDP’s first-ever Celebration of Art Showcase.
This showcase invites you to reflect on the interconnectedness of speaking well, thinking well and being well – and how creative expression and practices can influence wellness in ourselves, our colleagues and the communities we serve.
Our goal is to highlight the diverse talents of our paediatric colleagues at every level and across disciplines, recognising that creativity is not just an outlet but a vital sign of well-being.
Our vision:
To curate an exhibition that embodies the spirit of “Being Well” through:
- Visual arts – drawings, paintings, embroidery, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, digital art
- Media arts – video, filmmaking, digital installations
- Literary arts – poetry, short stories, essays, narratives or reflecting writing
- Performing arts – stand-up comedy, music
The exhibition would open from Thursday, 14 August to Saturday, 16 August 2025, during the ASDP Conference in Queenstown. Each artist will be able to submit up to five pieces of work.
If you have an indication of what your work might be at this stage and approximate sizes, then please do let us know as part of your EOI for consideration. The deadline for submission of EOI is Sunday, the 15th of June 2025.
Once the EOI has been reviewed, we will be in touch by Sunday, the 29th of June, to request further information about your submission. It is agreed this process will involve a photograph of the work, and you will also need to indicate the size of the artwork to help us determine the logistics for curation. A final decision will be made by early July, subject to space availability.
Artists will be responsible for getting their work to Queenstown, setting it up on the evening of Wednesday, 13th of August, before the start of the conference, and removing the artwork at the end.
